The dining adventure on Kettuvallam is often the highlight for travellers. You’ll find loads of fresh river fish here. Sometimes, the chef even goes fishing from the comfy houseboat, but most times, they buy the catch—fresh fish, lobsters, or mussels—from local fishermen on canals. You can grab it straight from their canoe or when they pedal around selling their catch, making a distinct ‘ooooo’ call in the morning. You pay for what you like, and the chef cooks it up fresh in the onboard kitchen.

The veggies and fruits on your plate either come from the boat’s farm or the nearby villages. They’re crunchy, fresh, and really tasty. All our meals are flavoured with local tastes. Kerala offers a wide range of food, making it a food paradise for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

Our fancy boats are docked about 10km away from the town’s hustle, in the waters near Chennamkary village. Travellers like that our check-in and orientation happen at a 200-year-old heritage home and a private farm of 7 acres. You get to stroll through the untouched countryside with green paddy fields along the roads, whitewashed churches peeking through lush greens, and reach the heritage home of the owners. Experiencing typical Keralan architecture is a great way to start before getting on your deluxe houseboat and beginning your Alleppey backwater cruise.
